Abbey James and Special Gifts

I came across the most gorgeous etsy shop the other day when looking for a gift for a friend. Rebecca a mother of 5 (oh my goodness how does she have the time!) runs Abbey James selling the most beautiful handcrafted bath and body products.

Everything about the parcel that Becky made up for my friend was wonderful. The
Pomegranate Blossom Gourmet Soap with it's carefully blended natural products of orange, vanilla and pomegranate looked gorgeous with it's swirly pink and white pattern. The beautifully packaged little pots of body butter in amazing scents like Lemon Biscotti and the pretty gift card with my message on.

The care, attention to detail and Becky's kindness made this a truly special gift to send.
So thank you so much Becky.

Beta Fashion.com

I have just entered a really fun competition run by Beta Fashion.
It was fun and interesting and their design pack was really easy to use.

If you like my design please vote for me here

The Design Brief.

This Project requires you to create an original piece of artwork which can be applied to one of the garments in our coming autumn collection. The collection will includes party dresses, day dresses, t- shirts, silk scarves and a wide range of jersey pieces. At these times when our oceans are most threatened we are reminded not only of their fragility but also of their extreme beauty and the diversity of life which they support.  Take inspiration from costal habitats, marine life and oceanic eco systems when creating your prints.  Nautical themes are often exclusive of print and so this project is an opportunity to explore the oceans true beauty and apply it to fashion.
This theme is very broad and as always is open to personal interpretation.

My design was inspired by sea urchins.

Glass Fusing

My first attempt at some fused glass jewellery, it was great fun!
The glass really shows lots of depth and colour in the light but it's really hard to catch that in the photos.  I used the fuseworks microwave kiln. It's a great alternative to a really expensive kiln, perfect for the newbie! It only has a very small space for your glass piece, but as it takes such a small amount of time for each project- it doesn't matter too much.
